Canadian Cities Ranked Among the Top 100 Best Places to Live in the World 2023

Did you know that worldwide cities must have a population of at least one million to be eligible for ranking? Safety, weather, nightlife, environment, attractions, universities, labour force participation, and GDP are among the factors that determine the ranking, although they are not the only ones.

London has maintained its status as the best city in the world to live in for the past seven years. In terms of international investment, opulent real estate, booming tourism, and nightlife, London scores well. We determined that Toronto can benefit from them in a number of ways! Moscow finished fourth in 2022 but, like St. Petersburg, was completely left off the list in 2023.

This list’s top city, Toronto, is placed 24th worldwide. Toronto, which has a population of around 6.9 million, is notable for its rapid economic development, which is fueled by high immigration rates and foreign investments. The fact that the city is among the top 20 cities in the world for having the most educated population is partly responsible for the city’s reputation for having a large number of talented labourers.

Toronto’s economy, which currently serves as home to around 500 head offices, has been guided by the ability to admit competent immigrants. Despite having all these positive attributes, its ranking is down from where it was in 2018, when it was in 18th place.

Ranking: 57th

Montreal comes in second place. Despite being ranked 12th in terms of wealth disparity, Covid-19 exposed Montreal’s inadequate healthcare system. Montreal is ranked 22nd internationally for its rich culture and 25th for important inventions.

Ranking: 65th

With an oil industry that has a significant impact on entrepreneurship, Calgary is portrayed as Canada’s most significant business centre. Its GDP is ranked 22nd worldwide. The city is steadily making up for the effects of the epidemic, which caused unemployment to rise to the highest level in Canada.

Ranking: 69th

Pan-Asian residents are increasing in number in Vancouver. The University of British Columbia, which was rated 18th worldwide, and economic equality, which was ranked 20th globally, are both credited with Vancouver’s reputation for safety and intelligence. It also has a favourable topography that enables the utilisation of various transportation methods.

Ranking: 96th

It is the capital of Canada and known for its intellectual prowess, which draws people to the area. One of the town’s four residents is an immigrant. The majority of Ottawans work for companies that promote clean technology, which opens new job options. As a result, the city has a thriving economy with a 79th-ranked GDP per capita. Because the cost of living is relatively cheap, people have more money to spend on other things.

Canada has announced its highest-ever immigration targets.

By boosting immigration to 500 000 per year by 2025, Canada hopes to diversify its population as part of its Immigration Levels Plan 2023–2025. In order to supplement the number of talented employees whose numbers are progressively declining due to age and retirement, the strategy specifically targets over 60% of immigrants who enter the country as permanent residents under the Express Entry Program. The stability, safety, and tolerance of the nation will probably draw a sizable number of people.

Express Entry: What is it?

It is the most widely used immigration route to become a permanent resident of Canada. Under the Express Entry application management system, the Canadian Experience Class (CEC), the FSTP, and the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) all seek for qualified individuals who are ranked according to the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS).

If you think you could be a candidate, the first thing to do is determine whether you qualify for any of the programmes mentioned above. In order to get your CRS score later on, you can build a profile with Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

As you may already be aware, CRS ratings are generally determined by human capital elements like linguistic proficiency, educational attainment, professional experience, etc. Let’s say your CRS score is greater. Your chances of getting an invitation to apply (ITA) from IRCC will increase.
