The Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) is based on the area in which a person specialises and has a natural talent. If you want to become a permanent resident of Canada in 2022, you should know that the easiest PNP is determined by each individual’s eligibility criteria. There is no such thing as a one-size-fits-all solution. So in this article, we will be explaining which PNP is the easiest to get Canadian PR in 2022.
The goal of the PNP, which was launched by the Canadian government, is to welcome immigrants to arrive and settle in provinces where there are specific skill shortages. The PNPs also gave provinces/territories the authority to select migrant candidates who have the aptitude and proficiency to contribute to the economic growth of their respective provinces/territories.
Each province or territory covered by the PNP has its own set of specific streams aimed at selecting immigrants from specific categories. The provinces and territories that participate in PNPs provide immigrants with 80 nomination streams. A prospective immigrant who wishes to apply for permanent residency through the PNP must first identify the province that will provide him or her with the appropriate stream that meets his or her criteria or work experience. The expertise and knowledge of those individuals must also be appropriate for the needs of that market. People who find suitable matches must apply for a PR visa through a specific PNP.
The PNP is supported by Canada’s nine provinces and two territories.
With the exception of Nunavut and Quebec, all other provinces participate in the PNP to provide a provincial nomination. Quebec, on the other hand, invites aspiring migrants through its one-of-a-kind programme known as the Quebec Skilled Worker Program (QSWP).
The Express Entry system is linked to certain PNPs. Provinces with these PNPs are permitted to nominate a specific number of candidates under the Express Entry system to meet their local skill needs.
Candidates who receive a PNP nomination from a province through the Express Entry pool receive 600 points out of a possible 1,200 points under the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS).
By accumulating these extra points, they are increasing their chances of receiving an Invitation to Apply (ITA) in the upcoming Express Entry Pool draw.
Different Types of PNP
Provinces/territories may add any other qualifications for their immigration streams if they so desire.
Eligible candidates for joining the Express Entry pool can apply in the pool first and then receive a nomination from a province or territory, or they can apply in the pool first and then receive a nomination from a province before opting to join an online Express Entry pool by completing their profile and later making an entry into the Express Entry Stream.
For example, the province of Alberta nominates candidates from the Express Entry, Alberta Opportunity, and Self-employed farmer streams. Immigrants are permitted in British Columbia under the Skills Immigration Express Entry BC and Entrepreneur immigration programmes. Manitoba invites candidates through the Skilled Workers in Manitoba, Skilled Workers Overseas, and International Education Stream.
Immigrant candidates can apply for the PNP in New Brunswick under the categories of entrepreneurs, international graduates, skilled workers with employer support, and skilled workers under the EE stream. The province of Newfoundland and Labrador accepts Express Entry candidates, skilled workers, international graduates, and entrepreneurs. Nova Scotia welcomes immigrants to apply under the Express Entry, skilled worker, and entrepreneur categories. Meanwhile, Ontario only accepts candidates through the Human Capital Priorities Stream.
The province of Prince Edward Island has chosen to invite immigrants through the Express Entry Entrepreneur and International Graduate streams. Saskatchewan accepts applications through the Express Entry and Skilled Worker Occupation In-Demand streams. Finally, the North West Territories and Yukon allow candidates to apply through the employer-driven and business, as well as the foreign workers and business nominee streams.
The PNP had only invited 233 candidates in 1996, but the admission target for 2022 has now been set at 86,000.
From 2022 to 2024, Canada expects to welcome over 260,000 new permanent residents solely through the PNP.
So which PNP is the easiest to get Canadian PR in 2022?
If a PNP applicant has not yet received a job offer, she or he may choose from the following streams:
The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program’s Human Capital Priorities stream is divided into three categories: Candidates applying for it must have an active Express Entry profile, as well as recognised work experience, to get through in this stream.
They could also look into Saskatchewan’s International Skilled Worker Category, which has two streams that do not require candidates to have job offers. One is the Saskatchewan Express Entry-linked stream, which requires applicants to search for active profiles in the Express Entry system in order to apply. Alternatively, under the Saskatchewan Occupation In-Demand stream, applicants must have a minimum of one year of work experience in one of the positions listed on the Saskatchewan In-Demand Occupations List.
PNP streams for technology workers include the Ontario Human Capital Priority Stream and British Columbia’s Tech Pilot Stream. Individuals must have work experience in one of the six designated technology occupations to be eligible for the Ontario Human Capital Priority Stream. The BC Tech Pilot programme, on the other hand, requires applicants to have a job offer from one of the 29 technology occupations listed.
Potential migrants who have finished their studies or work experience in one of the provinces or territories can obtain a PNP nomination quickly. It is applicable to candidates in the Skilled Worker in Manitoba and Skilled Worker Overseas streams of the Manitoba PNP.
Applicants who are fluent in French have a better chance of receiving a PNP nomination through the Express Entry-linked Ontario PNP’s French-Speaking Skilled Worker programme.
As Canada just announced that the popular Canada-wide Express Entry immigration pool will be reinstated in July 2022.
Since the end of 2021, the Express Entry draw has only included candidates from the Provincial Nominee Program. Candidates for the Federal Skilled Working Class, Federal Skilled Working Class, and Canadian Experience Class can now look forward to future draws that will include their applications.
To summarise, knowing which PNP is the easiest to get Canadian PR in 2022 will be determined by the immigrants’ skills and work experience. To obtain PR visas, they must carefully select the appropriate stream based on their skills and experience.
