Work as a junior financial analyst in Brooklyn, New York, check requirements

The Jr. Financial Analyst will be responsible for preparing, improving, and tracking revenue and expense reports to ensure accuracy and accountability. The ideal candidate has excellent organizational and time management skills, as well as multitasking capabilities. The candidate must also demonstrate strong independent reasoning, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to actively think and act. Jr. Financial Analyst will regularly cooperate with various internal departments. This position reports directly to the senior director of FP&A.

Basic duties and responsibilities

Compile monthly departmental revenue and expenditure tracking report;
Assist in completing the month-end and year-end checkout process;
Assist in tracking performance according to budget and business plan, and make recommendations for modification as appropriate;
Assist in the coordination of the customer relationship management system, as it is related to sponsorship income;
Preparation and verification of kit, sponsorship, and ticket sales revenue reports;
Assist commission calculation and track cash collection;
Assist in the creation and update of financial reports distributed to senior leaders;
Assist in audits and league reports, including audits conducted by the NBA and NBPA;
Assist in completing designated special projects; temporary reports when necessary, including excel modeling, management report dashboards, etc.

Knowledge/skills/ability

Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, including but not limited to nested formulas, pivot tables, search functions (no SQL or VBA knowledge required);
Must have a working knowledge of Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook;
Must have excellent analytical skills;
Must have a comprehensive understanding of financial analysis, and have the ability to assess and communicate strategic impact;
In addition to company documents and records, there must be an uncompromising ability to protect the confidentiality and privacy of others, while understanding sensitive information;
Must work flexibly to meet the time required to meet strict deadlines;
Must have strong independent thinking, reasoning, problem-solving, and decision-making skills;
Must have the ability to effectively arrange, organize and perform multiple tasks within different timeframes;
Must be able to show uncompromising judgment and judgment in interpersonal relationships;
Must have a strong sense of self and emotional intelligence;

Education and/or experience

A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, sports management, economics, or business management is required;
At least 0-3 years of analysis and financial work experience.

Travel requirements

Those who travel infrequently (<5% on business trips): Incumbents may need to travel on a very limited basis. Travel may require air travel and/or overnight stay away from home for one or more nights.
